We had great service, exceptional good and a welcoming atmosphere. Everything we tried was 5 stars!
What an incredible experience it has been at Marlin Azul! The best food I have had, ever! Fresh caught wahoo served as grilled steaks and raw with sauces and sides that were the perfect pairing. We couldn’t even finish the spread because it just kept coming but took what we could to go! The drinks were amazing and happy hour made it super affordable for me and my friends. The swimming pool, pool table, and most comfy chairs really level the place up. Last but certainly not least, the kindness of this local family run spot is beyond words and I feel like I have forever family friends here in La ventana. Huge thank you to Karel and Delfino, see you in February!
This is a restaurant worth recommending in La Ventana. We visited twice during our 1 week stay, and both times the food was excellent. The portions are larger than they appear in the photos, so keep that in mind when ordering. Highly recommended. Thank you!
Great food, ambiance, service and a great place to play some billiards.
These folks are awesome. Even with a power outage they were pleasant and open to serving drinks and chips in the dark! My kind of peeps. They even gave a go at a Caesar for me!
We arrived at just after 5:30 and the place was already filling up fast. Drink orders were filled quickly, although a few of the Cokes came out without glasses. When we asked for a glass with ice it was delivered within a minute. Great service. Pricing is pretty much of a par with other restaurants in the area, but the servings sizes were a little larger. Food was delicious and we all walked about nicely full. A few of our party even had leftovers to take home. By the time we left (around 7:30) the place was completely full and people were waiting for tables. So if you come during the busy season, come early. Recommended
Feels like authentic Mexican, but caters to US and Canadians. Portions are massive. Shrimp aguachile is incredible. So are the chicken fajitas and coconut fish. The latter is not authentic at all, but hey, tastes awesome. Main dishes feed 2 IMO. Service also great.
UPDATE: October 2023: I ordered the shrimp combo (combinacion azul?) and my usual mango margarita. The combo comes with two stuffed shrimp (empanizados), two coconut, and two breaded, and I could only finish the side salad and stuffed ones. They were very Rick and flavorful, and SO filling. My mom ordered the house frozen margarita, and as with most margaritas here in Mexico, it was on the tart side but not as tart as some others we've had down here. My mom ordered a cheese quesadilla but added chicken and said it was one of the best she's ever had. Their mashed potatoes are fantastic too!! January 2022: This place is FANTASTIC! The prices are slightly high compared to a lot of other local fare, but you get huge portions! I went twice in the four weeks I was in town. I almost always get the coconut shrimp. They're delicious and pretty decently sized. It's served with a small side salad and delicious mashed potatoes. The first time we went, my grandpa got their burger (one of his usuals), and it was probably one of the top ten best burgers I've ever tasted, and burgers are one of my favorite things to get in the States. It's also enormous. He managed to finish it, but it could probably easily feed two people. Their table salsa is delicious! I'm also a big fan of their mango margaritas. I tend to like them on the sweeter side, and theirs definitely is, but I'm pretty sure the only other thing they add is the liquor. Delicious! I highly recommend! April 2021: I got the rib and shrimp plate, and oh my! So good!! I love the salsa too. This is my new favorite restaurant in the area.
